Join us in honoring our 2009 Engineer of the Year and Young Engineer Year at the 57th Annual National Engineers' Week Banquet:
Engineer of the Year: Dr. G.E.O Widera, Professor and Senior Researcher at Marquette University's College of Engineering
Young Engineer of the Year: Dr. Russ Meier, Associate Professor at Milwaukee School of Engineering's Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Department
We are pleased to announce Tom Metcalfe, Project Director and Vice President of We Power LLC, as our Keynote Speaker.
Mr. Metcalfe is a British engineer educated in the UK and has worked as a power station developer for the past 20 years. Most recently he has moved from working for Mirant Asia Pacific where he directly developed a number of coal and gas-fired power projects in Australia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Korea, to Wisconsin where he works for Wisconsin Energy Corp., overseeing the development and construction of a new super-critical coal-fired power plant 20 miles south of Milwaukee.
Mr. Metcalfe will be speaking about his experience with the engineering and construction challenges faced during the development of the Elm Road Generating Station--Wisconsin's largest ever privately funded infrastructure project.
